Spinnakers

Recently, a dedication for the Spinnakers at Veranda, a 32-foot-tall sculpture located at the Veranda roundabout (the intersection of SE Becker Road, SE Veranda Gardens Boulevard, and SE Veranda Preserves) was held. The City of Port St. Lucie requires developers to furnish or pay for public art as part of any development agreement. Greenpointe Communities paid for the sculpture, no tax dollars were used. British artist David Harber was commissioned to design the $500,000 sculpture, which consists ofthree spinnaker sails shaped in such a way that they appear to have been caught in the wind.
